Day 1

Airport to Muscat
Day 1

On arrival welcome the clients to the Muscat International Airport.  

As the clients arrive early morning we will do a city tour before check inn at the Muscat hotel.  

the driver guide will take the clients to a local restaurant to have breakfast. (own payment) 

After breakfast visit the Grand Mosque in Muscat.  

The Grand Mosque (open for visitors from Sat to Thur 8-11 AM only, except the holidays) which is the biggest mosque in the country with beautiful art works, chandelier & a one piece carpet covering the entire prayer hall measuring approx. 4260 square meters.  

* Non-Muslims are allowed to visit the mosque every day, except Friday, from 8:30 until 11:00 am. Visitors are asked to dress modestly and in a way befitting places of worship. Women are also required to cover their hair. 

We visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum,  a private museum with a wonderful collection portraying the traditional image of the country. Next stop would be “Al Alam Place” (Photo stop) flanked by the two Portuguese Forts “Jalali & Mirani”. In the end visit the “Mutrah Souq”, one of the oldest souqs in Oman. The narrow alleys of the souq and the smell of the mystic frankincense and sandalwood in the air are typical of this souq. After the visit return to your vehicle to drive back to the hotel.

Day 2

Muscat to Nizwa

After breakfast proceed to Nizwa. Nizwa fort with its enormous round tower built in the 17th century built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'aruba to defend the route to the interior. The fort dominates the entire area with the town having grown around the edifice. Access to the top is possible only by means of a narrow, twisting staircase barred by heavy wooden doors, studded with metal. From the top of the tower one can get a bird's eye view of the Nizwa city. From here you will proceed to the Nizwa Souq which is renowned for its intricately hand-carved Khanjar and ornately designed silver Jewelry.   

Next drive would be to Jabreen with en-route stopping at Bahla for a photograph of the Bahla Fort (photo stop), now a World Heritage Site. Arrive at Jabreen to visit the castle, the finest of Oman's castle built in the late 17th Century, which became a seat of Omani learning .This castle has extremely well planned layouts with room for the wali, the ladies room, the kitchen, the majlis etc. Most of the ceilings are decorated with beautiful paintings with Islamic motifs. The view from the top of the castle is really mesmerizing.

Day 3

Nizwa / Desert (Wahiba Sands )

Breakfast at the Hotel. 

After breakfast proceed to the Desert.  

Board you waiting 4WD and drive towards Ibra. Stop in Ibra by the old Houses and then continue towards Wadi Bani Khalid. . You can also witness a Women’s Market if you happen to be there on a Wednesday. After the short stop, drive towards Wadi Bani Khalid. This drive through the mountain offers a panoramic view of the beautiful landscape below. You will pass through many pretty villages embedded in the mountains before reaching the destination. Here the road winds down to the wadi alongside a large, shallow pool fringed with vegetation & ends at a village. You park our vehicles at this point & continue on a short trek to the deep blue pools of the wadi. If you wish you may enjoy a swim in this glorious grace of nature. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes & walking shoes for this trip.  

After spending some time there, drive to Wahiba, the sea of Sand. Home to the Bedouin, the sands offer visitors a glimpse of a traditional way of life that is fast disappearing as modern conveniences limit the need for a nomadic existence. Drive into the dunes sometimes ranging upto 100 meters or more. The sand colour varies from orange to Golden Colour You may also get an opportunity to meet a Bedouin Family in the Desert. Prceed to your camp for overnight stay  

Day 4

Desert (Wahiba Sands ) – SUR/Ras al Ha
Day 4

Early morning, enjoy sunrise in the desert and capture the scenic beauty in camera. After breakfast in the camp, proceed to Ras al Jinz. Ras Al Hadd where overnight stay is arranged. After dinner, visitors drive to Ras al Jynz, a protected Green turtle nesting reserve. During the nesting season, turtles can be seen laying eggs at night.. (Lunch & Dinner Optional)  

Day 5

Sur to Muscat
Day 5

After breakfast proceed to Sur, renowned or shipyards where traditional Omani boats (dhows) are built. The coastal drive continues through Qalhat, one of the oldest towns and seaports in Oman, famous for exporting horses and importing spices from India in the 3th century. The ruins of Bibi Mariam mausoleum is another attraction here. A picnic lunch at Wadi Shab will be followed by a swim in the scenic sea fringed by white sandy beaches in Fins, reaching Muscat by late evening.

Day 6

Muscat to Airport
Day 6

After breakfast proceed to the Muscat international airport in time for the flight back home.
