Featured location - Hanifaru Bay Maldives

Based in the iconic Baa Atoll in the Maldives, Hanifaru Bay is haven for the lovers of snorkeling with the various types of marine life including manta ray and whale sharks. Hanifaru bay is a legally protected and designated Marine area which is UNESCO biosphere reserve. Strict regulations are in place to ensure protection and preservations of this spectacular site.  The specialty of Hanifaru Bay is that it is shaped like a funnel which is about 1300 meters. In the middle part of the funnel which spans 600 meters whale sharks and mantas can be seen. It is also known as the world’s largest Manta ray feeding station. The tourists are allowed to snorkel here but diving is prohibited. Only 80 people are allowed to snorkel at once and the given time in the water is 45 minutes per person due to strict rules and regulations. The best time to visit Hanifaru Bay is between May to December.
