After breakfast play 18 hole golf at the Royal Golf Club Colombo.

Colombo Royal Golf Club (Duration of visit : approx 3 ½  – 4 Hours) 

Surrounded by residential areas and business establishments, the Royal Colombo Golf Club is a sanctuary situated in the heart of Colombo, Sri Lanka. In contrast to its surroundings, it is an exquisite and tranquil environment to relax, unwind and tee off. The scenic landscape and a glimpse of the rare species of flora and fauna on the course all contribute to this pastoral environment set within its 96 acre former model farm. Founded over 130 years ago and being the second oldest Royal Golf Club outside the United Kingdom, an extensive array of historic golf memorabilia is found available on display in the club house. The club remains a showpiece after being re-designed by architects of world repute, Donald Steel and Martin Ebert. The course is absolutely beautiful and the clubhouse is studded with comfortable foyers, a Coffee Shop named Ridgeways and it offers much privacy and fine Dining. This 5770 m (par 71) golf course offers challenges through its many water hazards and bunkers which can test even the seasoned players. The sixth hole is supposed to be a treat where golfers encounter the Kelani Valley train which passes across the fairways.

Until recently Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo is a diverse blend of old colonial architecture and the modern high-rise buildings. From the grand old mansions of the by-gone era to the department stores and shady tree-lined boulevards of today, Colombo is able to satisfy everyone from the prince to the pauper. From golf courses to excellent shopping, dining, wining and entertainment venues you name it, Colombo has it!

Day 03

Colom,bo - Pinnawala - Kandy - Digana
Day 03

After breakfast proceed to Kandy enroute visit Pinnawela elephant orphanage.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (Duration of visit : approx 1 – 1 ½  Hours) 

Features one of the biggest herds of captive elephants in the world. The Pinnawela herd today numbers nearly 71 and is easily one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. The main attraction at Pinnawela is watching the elephants walking down to the river twice a day to have their bath. Feeding time for baby elephants is also a very popular time at the orphanage.

In the evening engage in a Kandy city tour including Temple of the tooth relic.

Kandy Temple and City (Duration of visit : approx 1 ½  – 2 Hours)

The Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a temple in the city of Kandy in Sri Lanka. It was built within the royal palace complex which houses the only surviving relic of Buddha, a tooth, which is venerated by Buddhists. The relic has played an important role in local politics since ancient times; it's believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country, which caused the ancient kings to protect it with great effort. Kandy was the capital of the Sinhalese Kings from 1592 to 1815, fortified by the terrain of the mountains and the difficult approach. The city is a world heritage site declared by UNESCO, in partly due to the temple.

Victoria Golf Club (Duration of visit : approx 3 ½  – 4 Hours) 

The Victoria International Golf and Country Club, popularly known as the Victoria Golf Club located 40 minutes from the royal city of Kandy- the ancient and historic hill capital. It is nestled within the Kandyan mountain range, an area of breathtaking scenic beauty surrounded by the Victoria Reservoir. This 517 acre 6877m (par 73) course is one of the latest in Sri Lanka and was designed by the famous British Golf Architects - Donald Steel and Company The course layout has taken full advantage of the terrain incorporating the undulating hillside, planted coconut and majestic Jake forests, together with the spectacular vistas of the surrounding mountain and reservoir to form one of the most picturesque courses in Sri Lanka and the Asian Sub-continent. This area with a moderate temperature of around 20 -30º C offers the best playing conditions.

Please note you will be driving to an altitude of 1900 meters and therefore temprature in Nuwara Eliya will be 20-25c during day , 10-15c during night. Warm clothing recommended.

Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (Duration of visit : approx 3 ½  – 4 Hours) 

The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, founded in 1889, is one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia and probably the world and is enriched with a tradition and an ambiance which is hard to equal. The Club is situated at the foot of Mount Piduruthalagala (Mount Pedro) and is surrounded by some of the finest tea gardens in Sri Lanka.    

The 18-hole course which has a length of 6075 yards and a course par of 71 consists of fairways which are long and narrow, bordered by tall trees and dense shrubbery. Good positional play is required, and the terrain enfolds the golfer in a constant uphill and downhill trek with many water hazards. The grass on the greens is local, mixed with bluegrass.

In the afternoon take a stroll around Nuwara Eliya city. It’s a small town and can be easily explored by foot.

Visit one of the local bars in Nuwara Eliya town and witness how the locals chat over a drink. (Direct payment) . Please note bars are closed on certain religious holidays.
