South Asia's tallest tower declared open in Sri Lanka

South Asia’s largest tower was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena on the 16th of September 2019. The tower comprises of a restaurant, supermarkets, food courts, conference halls, a telecommunication museum, a 1000-seat auditorium, luxury hotel rooms, an observation gallery and ballrooms. It is 1168 feet tall and was inspired by the Lotus flower. The flower symbolizes purity within Sri Lankan culture and is also said to symbolize the country’s flourishing development.
